. . .

Amanda and Juliet here! Two sisters, total of 4 kids and a whole lot of shit talking. Vodka and Juice boxes is an idea my husband and I (Amanda) came up with after talking in our kitchen one night about how incredibly crazy being a parent actually is compared to the way everybody else describes it. “You should start a podcast” he said.. so here it is. The point of our podcast is to talk about real life parenting, with no judgement and very little censorship. This isn’t us telling you what to do. This is a safe place for moms and parents to let it all out. So Join my sister and I twice a month to complain about parenting and laugh at each other because we’re not alone. The no sleep, public meltdowns, lying , getting your kid to eat, how you’re sick and tired of poop and fart jokes, carpool, and so much more!

Meet Your New Best Friends!

We are two sisters from Southern California. Between the two of us, we have 4 very fun, wild, crazy, needy and emotional kids. I (Amanda) have two girls age 5.5 and 1 mo. Juliet, my older and brilliant sister (she typed that, not me LOL) has two boys, ages 4 and 1.5. Both married to pretty awesome guys who never miss a podcast and not gonna lie, have a cocktail waiting for us when we get home from each recording. We were raised by the most incredible mother, Debbie, single mom of five… Yes there are more of us… who taught us to always be true to ourselves while never leaving anyone behind. “It’s not our place to judge. Don’t tear down, but lift up,” were some of the life lessons we were brought up with. After having kids, we kept seeing time and time again, in person and all over the media, how moms judge, compare and tear down … well, we are sick of it. It’s time to tell it how it is. Share our tears, our jokes and drinks with other moms who need a safe sounding board.

Oooh, this is going to be juicy!

This is a very heavy and important topic that we wanted to discuss as there are a lot of families out there dealing with alcoholism. Join us and our two very strong moms as they share their story of struggles and strengths.

Featured Drink

It’s time to get real fancy and make a legit cocktail. We found this Lavender Lemonade Martini from Creative Culinary

Here’s the recipe:

The Simple Syrup:
Bring to boil 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 sugar. Once the sugar is completely dissolved, remove from heat and add 6 sprigs of lavender. Let the mixture cool completely. We actually let the lavender simmer for 5 min and then cooled. Your call.

The cocktail:
Strain the lavender simple syrup into a pitcher, add 1/2 of fresh lemon juice (we got ours at Sprouts) add 4oz of Vodka (or more if you are Amanda) Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add your desired amount for one or two glasses. Shake until VERY cold.
Pour into your martini glass and garnish with a lemon slice and a sprig of lavender.

Drink … REPEAT!
